The Court Appointed Special Advocate program was founded in 1977 by a Seattle judge. Advocates were trained to help the court obtain a clearer picture of what children in the court system wanted, as well as what was in their best interests. Since that time, the original program has expanded to form National CASA, which is the umbrella program for more than 900 local CASA agencies with more than 76,000 volunteers.
CASA of Natchitoches was founded in 2003, and has been growing ever since. We currently serve all of Natchitoches Parish, and we have plans to expand into neighboring parishes in the near future. We have an excellent pool of trained volunteers who are committed to serving the children in our community.
